Stepping with Hemmings

Stepping with Hemmings

Here’s a 5-minute documentary with a terrific story of Chris Hemmings, an inspiring SES leader. This doc won in the Best Editing category at the SES Leadership Film Festival held upon the completion of their “Heart of Leadership” workshop. It was produced by SES rising leaders Javier Hernandez Calvo, Adelaide Ahovy Abbiw-Williams, and Jean-Alain Lucciardi, who participated in the workshop.

Javier said, “Each team member played a unique role, leveraging their strengths to bring the film to life. The editing process was crucial in creating a cohesive story, and we learned a lot about its importance in filmmaking. Overall, this experience was invaluable for our leadership development. We gained valuable insights into collaboration, leadership, and creativity, while learning more about ourselves as individuals. We’re proud of what we achieved and grateful for the opportunity. We hope our film helped showcase the many talents and achievements of Chris Hemmings, and we look forward to applying the skills and lessons we learned to future challenges.”

Adelaide added, “The whole process reiterated the leadership topics discussed in the LDP program so far. I had a vision to write the script and storyboard so we could all align on what the expected outcome would be. However, as we went along, I had to accept that the plan would not go exactly as written because everyone had their own interpretation and style. Communication was key all along the way and helped us understand what each person was doing and how we could support each other.”

Check out future blogs which will feature a few more of these fine films.
