Here’s the second in a series of 5-minute documentaries, this one capturing meaningful insight from three inspiring leaders with the great global satellite company, SES: Suzanne Ong, Petra Vorwig, and Isabelle Callou. This doc won the coveted “Most Inspiring Leader” category at the SES Leadership Film Festival held upon the completion of their “Heart of Leadership” workshop. It was produced by SES rising leaders, Bushra Mubarik, Dakshina Dhanasekaran, Sarah Bell, and Eimear Whelan, who actively participated in the workshop.
The filmmaking team gained valuable lessons during the preproduction, production, and postproduction stages of producing its movie.
Bushra Mubarik said, “During the brainstorm session on selecting the leader for our project, we came up with an idea to do something different and focus on women. This was an opportunity to highlight the value of women in leadership positions. We had a nice learning experience about leadership while working on the film and we hope that this will be motivating for the next generation of aspiring leaders.”
Added Sarah Bell, who did a superb job editing the film, “As a result of making the film, I think most of all I’ve learned that leaders aren’t just leaders when they’re in a managerial role. Leadership is at every level.”
The three featured leaders covered a lot of important territory such as challenges, work-life balance, persistence, passion, and self-belief. Plus, they very much enjoyed the process of being interviewed and filmed. All were impressed with the film’s outcome. Isabelle Callou added, “It was a great experience! Short, sweet and fun! Hope we could trigger some inspiration to young female leaders-to-be!”
